New indigenous artwork shares Saputo’s story

To coincide with NAIDOC Week, SDA commissioned an artwork by Indigenous artist, Vegas Fitzmaurice, as part of our ongoing efforts to further explore and understand the cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Vegas is a Yarra Yarra artist from the Kulin nation, with a passion for engaging, inspiring and bringing awareness and respect to Indigenous heritage through his creative storytelling.

The artwork, ‘Connected Community’, explores Saputo’s story centred around the themes of ‘connect’, ‘protect’, ‘support’ and ‘nourish’.

View the video explaining how the piece was created, including the artistic techniques used to connect the artist and Company to the land.
