Saputo Dairy Australia (SDA) was pleased to recently partner with the Burnie Netball Association (BNA) to celebrate the installation of new canopy and seating structures for players and spectators.
With $10,000 funding support provided through the Saputo Legacy Program, the new structures will ensure year-round use for court-users and the community to view netball matches, eat and socialise.
BNA President, Lyn Odgers, said with over 1,000 members, the Burnie Netball Association was pleased to welcome Saputo’s generous sponsorship.
“The funds have enabled us to provide tables and seats under a canopy for our members to sit and enjoy views across our five courts. Our members are very appreciative of Saputo Dairy Australia’s support and we expect the new seating and canopy facilities to be well used for many years to come,” she said.
Community engagement is important to Saputo and the Company strives to invest 1% of its pre-tax profits each year in community programs and organisations that promote a healthy lifestyle for people of all ages.
SDA Regional Operations Manager, Paul Davies, expressed the Company’s delight in supporting the Burnie Netball Association, particularly given the proximity to its local regional operations.
“Through our Legacy Program, we invest in local communities where our employees and suppliers live, work and play to help them lead healthy lifestyles. We are pleased that our partnership with the BNA has guaranteed the ongoing comfort and social needs of its members, players and spectators alike," he said.
Funding for the Burnie Netball Association is Saputo’s 10th Legacy project in Australia. Since launching the Legacy Program, Saputo Inc. has contributed approximately $3.3million globally towards projects in Canada, the United States, Argentina, Australia and the United Kingdom.
